Abstract
Rheumatoid Arthritis is one of the most prevalent rheumatologic diseases in the world, it can give several cervical complications among which erosion of the vertebral bodies, discitis and spinal compression, which is secondary to the formation of a pannus. Next, we present the case of a patient, 83 years old, who debuts with cervical compression milopathy due to the presence of odontoid pannus in the axoid atlanto joint arriving at quadriplegia, who underwent occipitocervical arthrodesis with posterior viatrumentation plus craniocervical decompression by osteotomy of the posterior arch of the atlas and resection of the posterior flange of the great occipital, favorable results were obtained 24 hours after the intervention.
