Abstract

Odontoid fractures in adolescents have a high risk of being caused by high energy accidents such as car accidents and falls from heights, leading not only to causing injuries to the spine but also to other sites of the body, including: head injuries ,
extremity fractures that can be closed and open, chest trauma and pelvic trauma, which puts the life of the patient at risk when suffering this type of injury. Fixation methods for this type of odontoid fractures can be conservative or surgical, with their limitations and complications that these techniques entail. For this reason, the right patient should be chosen for the treatment to be performed.
