Abstract
Osteoid osteoma is a relatively common benign bone tumor, most commonly seen in the appendicular skeleton in adolescents and young adults. It affects all bones, being more common in long bones. It is usually a solitary tumor. Men are affected two or three times more often than women. We present the case of an 18 months girl who consulted for presenting irritability and gait disturbance. Imaging studies revealed a lesion in the left tibia compatible with an osteoid osteoma. Surgical resection was made. An 8 years radiological follow-up was performed. Currently, the patient is asymptomatic. Osteoid osteomas in infants and toddlers are rare, however they should be part of the differential diagnosis in this type of injury.
